BECOME A FACTION PRO AMBASSADOR

By Matt Stiles 7th November 2022.

At Faction, The Pro Collective is an integral part of who we are as a brand. Since the beginning, we have sought to cultivate a community of outdoor professionals: ski instructors, patrollers, resort employees and the like, all united by our common love of the mountains. Together, TPC members proudly represent Faction and share this movement with their peers and clients, thus strengthening the entire ecosystem of The Faction Collective.

This movement continues to grow at a grassroots level thanks to a team of dedicated and passionate pro ambassadors, like Baptiste Cibat Theil, who you can read about below. These individuals come from all walks of life and help to spread awareness of TPC, assist during local demo days, and serve as eyes on the ground for any events in the area that could be of interest. In return, they benefit from starter goodies, special offers on Faction gear, and performance based rewards.

We are always looking for motivated and self-driven mountain enthusiasts to join this group. If this sounds like you, what are you waiting for? Sign up via the form below to join our pro ambassador program! Keep reading to learn more about Baptiste, one of our awesome pro ambassadors.

MEET PRO AMBASSADOR: BAPTISTE CIBAT THEIL

HOW DID YOU BECOME A FACTION AMBASSADOR?

B: I became a Faction ambassador during the Covid lockdown. Being passionate about the brand, my brother and I sent a request for sponsorship on the website, not knowing if we would be accepted but hoping that we would. In the end, I got a response offering me a role as an ambassador, which I gladly accepted!

HOW DO YOU FEEL AS A PRO AMBASSADOR?

B: Really good, I am happy to represent a brand like Faction.

WHAT KIND OF SKIING DO YOU MOSTLY DO?

B: Freeski, a lot of freeride and backcountry.

HOW DID YOU GET INTO SKI INSTRUCTING?

B: At 18 I began the process of taking the exams to become a ski instructor. I then started working and I loved it right away, so I continued, and haven't looked back since.

WHAT ARE THE ASPECTS OF YOUR JOB THAT MAKE YOU FEEL PROUD TO WORK IN THIS ROLE, AND IN THIS INDUSTRY?

B: Being able to share my passion and to be outside and on the mountain all day.

CAN YOU TELL US ONE OR TWO STORIES ABOUT HAPPY OR NOTEWORTHY MOMENTS ON THE JOB? GOOD OR BAD

B: A bad moment is when you have a class of beginners at 9:00 AM and you are lapping the green runs, when it's a bluebird day, it has snowed 30cm overnight and you could be getting face shots in the powder. A good moment is when you have a class with a group of young freeskiers and they're as eager to freeride as you are.

HOW DID YOU GET INTO SKIING?

B: With my parents, they put me on skis when I was two and a half years old.

WHAT DO YOU SKI ON FOR WORK, AND FOR 'PLAY'?

B: I ski on the Prodigy 2 for work and I ride for fun with the Prodigy 3. I love freeride: whenever I can and the conditions are good I go off piste or build kickers. Otherwise I love cruising on the slopes and doing a lap or two in the park.

DESCRIBE YOUR IDEAL SKI DAY. MORNING, AFTERNOON, APRÈS, ETC.

B: Friends, powder, and blue skies from the morning until the evening, and a good raclette and some beers to finish.

LASTLY, WHAT SUMMER SPORTS ARE YOU PASSIONATE ABOUT? HOW DO THEY COMPLIMENT YOUR SKIING ?

B: Surfing is my second passion, I love it. The feelings of gliding are crazy. I also mountain bike, skateboard, and will start paragliding next.
